I remember when I started my first home based business, I had loads of good ideas on how to promote my business but soon learnt that they would be too costly and time consuming. I suppose I was coming at this task in a more traditional approach. I was soon to learn more effective modern techniques.
Find a good mentor. Do some research on this person, just ask Google! Find out if this person is active on social media sites like Facebook and twitter. Ask for some testimonials. What experience has this coach got? Is this person moving with the times in order to provide the best expertise. Is this person legit?

Build a relationship with your mentor. Your mentor is your friend. It is important to be coachable, so you must ask questions and be willing to try new techniques. I strongly recommend that you keep an open mind, take in what marketing techniques are advised, pick your favourite strategies and concentrate on the most effective.
Remember to do your research because your mentor plays a very important part in your home based business. And take your time, there is no rush. This is such a great time to start your own business and be your own boss.
