With the current economic climate as it is today, more and more people are looking into starting their own home based business. And with all of the opportunities, mentors, gurus and training out there, it's hard to know which is the best direction.
I was in your shoes
I signed up for newsletters, free training courses, hints and tips on how to get started and I kept on stumbling upon websites telling me how easy it is to start my own home based business. I am sure you have seen it all before too. But obviously we know that it is impossible to make '$30,000 in your first 30 days!!!', this is only possible if you already have a huge downline that trusts you. We were not born yesterday!
So I did my research
Which I am sure that most people are doing before they join an amazing business opportunity, you do your research! Just use the search engines to do the research for you. Look up the company name, the company products, any terms or slogans, and search any names that are involved with this kind of business (believe me, this would have helped me when I started).
You will find that some people are trying to steal other people's prospects by claiming that what you are searching for is a 'scam', but actually they are just trying to get you to join their business. If you are looking into an mlm business then you will also find people that are recommending that you stay well clear of a certain business. It could have been the poor product or the poor business opportunity that leads them to leave the company. This may be due to their poor marketing techniques which ultimately leads the person to blaming the mlm company.
So how did I start my home based business? I found a great mentor, joined a great business opportunity then I used great marketing techniques. Easy!
